Today I worked on inserting the important dates in my family like birthdays. I also started to add quotes to where the pictures are going to be.

Still Picture
Steps to taking a still picture of your dog:
Step 1: Find a good place to take a picture with a good backdrop. Make sure it doesn't have to much going on so you camera only focuses on the dog and not random signs in the background.
Step 2: Get your dog to get in the position you want it in.
Step 3: Get your dog attention without getting him out of his position.
Step 4: Take the picture

Project Proposal
Name: Sarah Kennedy Smith
Project Title: Let
All Dogs Eat Food
Project Start Date: November 7, 2014
Project Completion Date: May 15, 2015
Mentor’s Name: Mrs. Browning, Claudia Smith, Roger Smith
Brief Description: To make a calendar of all the pets in my family and
sell them to them to get money for the animal shelter.
Overview of Project Proposal
1) Project Objective:
My plan for this project is, as I go
and see my family on my mom’s side of the family over the Holidays is to take
pictures of their pets. During 20% time at school I would also learn how to
take different pictures of pets. After school that day I would go home and
practice it with my dogs. The next 20% I would edit them on my phone.
I am going to download them to shutterfly and make a
calendar with them and add a quote to it. I would then sell them all to my
family members. I would sell the calendars for $35 dollars. With the money that
I earn from selling the calendars I would use to buy dog food and any needed
supplies for the humane society. My goal would be to at least sell 5 calendars.
When I am done with this I hope to get the outcome of
giving dogs in our community the food they will need. I know I will not be able
to feed all of the dogs but I could at least try to give a few dogs enough food
for until they find a new home.
2) Project Rationale:
When I went to Belize last summer there are many dogs
wandering around with no home. They have to find their own food and water. They
were usually very skinny and dirty. So, in the U.S I want that to be different.
I want all dogs to have a place that they can call home and have food and water
whenever they may need it.
3) Project Steps:
·
Research how to
take good animal picture.
·
Research how much
money the calendars will be
·
Find a calendar
you want to use
·
Take a picture of
my pets
·
Edit them during
20% time
·
Download them to
shutterfly
·
Type in important
dates
·
Order the
calendars
·
Sell them to
family members
·
Buy dog food with
the money
·
Bring the dog
food to the animal shelter
4) Timeline of Activities:
November-
Figure
out how to take good animal pictures correctly and practice. Present the
project to Mrs. Browning.
January-
Finish
proposal and look at how to take good pictures.
February-
Take
pictures and insert them into the calendar.
March-
Add
quotes to the calendar.
April-
Add
important family events to the calendar and order.
May-
Work
on the presentation at the end.
5) Available Human and Material
Resources:
·
Mrs. Browning
·
Mentor list above
·
Shutterfly
·

6) Possible Road Blocks:
·
The calendars will not get in in time.
7) Research Questions:

·

Today I went on Shutterfly which is a website that you con create books with you own personal pictures in and you can also make calendars like that. I went on the website today to look at the prices for each size calendar and figure out what size I am going to do. I think I am going to do the 12x12 wall calendar that is $34.99.

So today is my first real blog, I have finally figured out what I am going to do during 20% time. I decided to go with photography and charity work. What I am going to do is to take pictures of my pets and my friends pets. I am going to print them out and get my parents to take them to work with them and sell them. The money I would get would be used to buy dog and cat food for the animal shelter.
At school during 20% time I am going to look up different ways to take pictures of animals. I would take the pictures that weekend and send them to my email account. I would then edit the pictures to get them ready to be printed at school. I am also going to buy some cheap pallets to frame the pictures in to sell them in.

This is my first 20% time this school year. We created our blogs today and it is a lot of fun. I have not yet figured out what I am going to do in my 20% time this year though. I thought about learning sign language but I am not sure who I can use it with. I may do some kind of charity project of a kindness project. I may learn an instrument. The next 20% I hope to have figured out what I am going to do.
